Farlows lake, in west London used to be my favourite day ticket place when I lived Hammersmith. I must admit – M25 motorway nearby makes this place a little bit noisy, but the quality and numbers of fish keeps you so busy that you are barely noticing it.
Some things about the venue:
there are 2 lakes. Match lake with loads of silver fish. Their current best single peg match weight exceeds two hundred pounds! Because it attracts clubs from all over the country, you should really make a phone call before going there – matches are quite regular there. Main lake is bigger and is very popular too – it hosted many British Carp Angling Championships. I’m not specialising in carp fishing, but sometimes all these bite indicators are getting a bit annoying – good sign if you like carp On top of that, there is a junior pond there as well. There’s also a pub(!) and tackle shop too. Coffee, food or a pint. Parking is free, just make sure you leave on time before gates are closed.
